I mean, I kinda had to? There needs to be at least minimal internal structure and groundworks I'm aware of if I want the series in-universe to progress in a way that sounds plausible, give indications of why the characters are so invested in it, and have the characters discuss or consider it in ways that feel realistic. I mean, my basic breakdown for the power system I've created is:

The Chinese five elements (earth, water, wood, metal, and fire), with each of those elements being assigned a signiture colour since it's a tokusetsu like Power Rangers (green, blue, pink, red, yellow, in the order I listed the elements)

Each element is associated with a different ideology and methodology, similar to how there are different forms of kung fu, with each one focusing on certain aspects of the form.

The type of warrior a person is determines how they interact with the five paths. Samurai like Steel Samurai (metal path, red colour theme) and Pink Princess (wood path, pink colour theme) each focus on only one path. They're specialists and focus on mastery. In contrast, ninjas generally know a bare minimum of two paths. They're more jack-of-all-trades and focus on flexibility. Other types of warriors exist, and presumably have their own unique interactions with the paths.

People like priestesses and monks are more closely linked with magic and the mystical arts than warrior-type characters, though there are aspects of that within the five paths.

That's it. That's literally it, that's the foundation of the show in my setting. It's minuscule. It's pretty basic. But with it, I can have the characters we know about from Steel Samurai interact with each other and their world in a way that indicates that there's an internal logic to it, and also add character flavour that meshes neatly with it. From there, I can add further details, like new characters that feel like they fit the setting, how the actors interact with the characters they're playing and the story they're in, and what fans like Maya and Edgeworth might enjoy and how they'd react to big news or exciting moments.

I still think that we as a fandom should goncharov some fanon into the steel samurai universe. I want fanfiction that doesn’t even include any actual main characters. Give me 20k enemies to lovers steel samurai and evil magistrate. I want coffee shop aus and all-but-canon ever present side characters.

ok yesterday on Twitter I saw someone talk about how there was an official 3D models for Franziska in an Ace Attorney slot machine game, so I looked it up cuz I wanted to know more about it and then I see a video of someone playing it and there’s??? A 3D model??? Of Gumshoe?!??!?

So far I’ve only found 3 (unique) moments where’s it’s used but hopefully there’s more 🙏🙏

and then I got more curious and started watching some videos of this person playing the slot machine game, and then I realized that are a lot of characters that never appeared after the original trilogy, who have their own 3D models in this thing, like there’s a 3D model of Godot, and one of Dee Vasquez, and of Luke Atmey, and of Furio Tigre, and Mini Mimey, and the Steel Samurai/Evil Magistrate, and Von Karma, and maybe there’s more, idk, but I haven’t seen any other than these (aside from the main characters, obviously)

there are also models of younger Ema, younger Pearl, Larry before the timeskip, and Mia using Maya’s body

they also recreated some of the locations, and various segments with 2D animation (I can’t tell if it’s done by the same studio that did the anime adaptation, but if it isn’t, then I’m guessing they were given the character references and designs since they look extremely similar)

they also did a segment for Rise from the Ashes in the anime style, when they didn’t adapt that case in the actual anime

now, I think my biggest question after looking at all of this is: what the fuck was the budget for this????

like having to make all these 3D models and sets, a lot of whom barely appear, recreating the soundtrack and animating so many scenes, for a slot machine??? Really???

I know this probably wasn’t Capcom themselves making all these models and animation, they more than likely sourced that out to other studios

I’m just amazed that there was so much so find here, and there might be more, idk, I haven’t watched every video about this thing

I think that if Miles Edgeworth were to ever have a Tumblr blog it would be entirely Steel Samurai based with a carefully organized tagging system. He posts lengthy formally worded analysis about Steel Samurai and nothing else. He doesn't check his notes. He does check his asks, because they're kind of like emails. He has anon asks and dms turned off. Someone sends an ask about his interests outside of Steel Samurai and he immediately blocks them. He doesn't have pronouns or a name to be called by in his bio. The only hint about Edgeworth's personal life is that when he refers to the death of Jack Hammer or the conviction of Matt Engarde he only refers to Phoenix as "that man".

Maya definitely has a tumblr and it has a canon Pink Princess url. She actually hoarded a bunch of Pink Princess urls long before the character was officially announced because she knew she needed to have them. Her tumblr header is "the real pink princess ask sal manella". Her pinned post has these

I'm sorry this is so fucking funny. Edgeworth nerds out stares at the steel samurai enraptured and in love, and then the steel samurai gives hims his autograph specifically saying he's married. I'm screaming.

I also know it's Larry in there and solidly one of the funniest thing that man's ever done. Just immediately clocks that Edgeworth has a crush on the steel samurai and tells his "sorry bro he's married"

Which means Larry knows that Edgeworth glares at people when he's got a crush. And which mutual *ahem* friend of theirs might he have noticed that habit from Edgeworth around I wonder.
